Women in Real Estate

On the occasion of the upcoming Women's Day on March 8th, we from Oikia.com asked a few questions to women in the world of real estate.

Today we have the pleasure of introducing you to Ava Tsvetkova, founder and CEO of the real estate agency Avasolis.

1. What is it like to be a woman real estate broker?

Being a woman broker is quite challenging, especially if you also combine the role of a mother. The brokerage profession requires many qualities, and among the most important is the ability to plan your commitments with meticulous accuracy, both professional and personal. Good communication, market knowledge, and teamwork with a property law attorney are a basic minimum for a successful career.

2. Do you work better with male or female colleagues?

I work successfully with fair and respectful colleagues, regardless of their gender. Let's not forget that there are colleagues important for my professional and personal development. There are specific individuals of different genders who have been my teachers, mentors, and inspirers.

3. Have you ever felt underestimated as a female broker?

I understand what it means to feel professionally underestimated. However, I believe in my strength, professionalism, and readiness to develop and acquire new knowledge and skills. If someone underestimates me, it doesn't mean my skills and capabilities are small; it reflects their prejudices and limitations. I believe we all deserve to be valued for our merits, regardless of our gender, and I will continue to work hard to achieve my goals.

4. Tell us a funny story from your practice.

5. What would you say to ladies who want to develop in the real estate broker profession?

Working as a broker is exciting, but often underestimated in terms of workload and commitment. If you are persistent, love a dynamic work environment, can communicate at different levels, and wish to gain knowledge and social contacts, this profession can be your dream job. Take at least six months to familiarize yourself with all aspects of the profession before deciding if it's right for you.
